When will corn break out of this extended trading channel? The current corn chart pattern reminds me of the pattern that developed in the fall of 2006, right before everything changed.

What will our team be watching for in the days ahead? Weather.

We'll be keeping our fingers on the pulse of weather around the world. It is staying too wet in Argentina, hot and dry in central Brazil, and dry in the eastern one-third of Australia. It appears that a La Nina is starting to develop. What impact will these systems have on markets as they continue to unfold?

What I'm Watching: September 12, 2017

Good morning, this is Al checking in to start your week off with our latest update on what our team is watching:

Watch the large continuation gaps in corn and wheat. Unless the USDA Report is bullish I expect corn and all of the wheat contracts to back and fill these large gaps on the continuation charts. Watch where the September contracts go off on Thursday.

What I'm Watching: September 11, 2017

Good morning, this is Al checking in to start your week off with our latest update on what our team is watching:

Watch the US dollar. With all of the damage from the recent hurricanes it is doubtful if the FED will raise interest rates in December. The close last week below 92 sets up a price target at 88 for the US dollar index. The lower dollar will be very positive long term for US grain and meat exports.

What We're Watching: August 9, 2017

Al here, checking in with today's update on what my team and I will be watching in the days to come:

The crop report on Thursday should provide fuel to move the grain market. Keep a close eye on the international situation with North Korea. War of any magnitude would not be viewed as bullish for anything in the short-term.
